I am a very experienced manager and have designed and delivered a number of different leadership and management development programmes aimed at different levels of manager and within different organisation sizes and sectors. There is a theoretical basis to the content but the emphasis is focussed on applying the learning in the workplace, using real life situations. I will work with you to identify your current needs, provide options for content and evaluation methods and support in communicating the programme to participants. Typical topics may include:

Change is inevitable, businesses need to constantly evolve and improve their services in order to remain competitive. Restructures invariably result in redundancies, redesigned roles or TUPE transfers, which create uncertainty, resistance to the change and reduced productivity. Changing ways of working can require new skills so employee development and confidence is critical to success. I have led my own teams during periods of change and delivered the HR support on several major projects. I understand how challenging change can be and I can work in partnership with you to support your change programme in the following ways:

Employees are an organisation’s greatest asset and invariably the greatest cost. Ensuring your employees are happy in their work will ensure they are motivated and performing at their best, providing excellent customer service. I can provide an independent facilitation service to gather employee’s views to make sure you know how your employees really feel and suggest ways to ensure engagement remains high. Examples include:

  • Conducting focus groups following a HSE stress risk assessment audit to explore the results

I am a fully trained and hold an Open College Network Certificate “Mediation in the Workplace” at Level 3. Conflict between employees interrupts the smooth running of the organisation, it is distressing for individuals and if not addressed often results in reduced performance, sickness absence or grievances. The principles are that mediation is voluntarily entered into, is solution focussed and results in a voluntary agreement signed by both parties.

I offer an impartial and confidential workplace mediation service for those in dispute. I can provide information on mediation and what is involved for the two parties. The service I offer takes one day and involves speaking to the two parties separately in the morning and then bringing them together in the afternoon to identify the key issues, develop mutual understanding and explore a range of solutions to improve their working relationship. This results in a voluntary agreement signed by both parties. It can also be helpful to arrange an additional follow up meeting to see how things are working between them 4- 6 weeks later to address any issues quickly.

Obtaining the facts quickly when allegations of a disciplinary nature are raised is critical in establishing the most appropriate actions. Sometimes it is preferable to bring in an independent external investigator rather than use an internal resource. I can support you in identifying the aim and scope of the investigation, act as the investigator by exploring all the evidence, interviewing witnesses and following relevant lines of enquiry. I will provide a detailed investigation report with key findings in respect of the allegation(s) and a recommendation of whether, on the balance of probabilities, there is a disciplinary case to answer.

Psychometric tests are very useful tools which aid in assessing skills such as a verbal, numerical, abstract and critical reasoning and are commonly used as part of the recruitment process.

Personality profiles utilising questionnaires such as Fifteen Factor, Occupational Personality Profile or the Jung Type Indicator are excellent for raising self-awareness as part of a personal development programme. They are especially useful as a foundation for those participating in a leadership & management development programme.

I am a member of the British Psychological Society and hold the necessary qualification to be able to administer psychometric tests and provide one to one feedback meetings with participants – Certificate of Competence in Occupational Testing Level A & B recognised as EFPA ETUC Level 2.

I hold the Institute of Leadership & Management Level 5 Certificate in Business Coaching & Mentoring. As an experienced business coach and mentor I provide a confidential one to one coaching and mentoring service which is focused on working towards specific goals, utilising a variety of models and tools to suit the client. Business coaching and mentoring provides a safe space in which individuals can consider specific goals they wish to achieve, explore the current situation and consider possible options of how they might work towards achieving their goal. The focus is very much on the future, not the past.

I have designed and delivered ILM qualification programmes in Leadership & Management and Coaching & Mentoring from Level 2- 5. I hold the CIEH Level 3 Award in Training – Principles and practice and I am an experienced Assessor holding the City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Candidates (A1).

I am an Associate Lecturer at the University of Lincoln working on undergraduate programmes.
